General Parameters

Proposed Process

Each ASOF Executive Board member commits to write one article per year.

Any member can submit an article in response to a call for articles from the Editorial Board.

An ASOF Committee, an Editorial Board, is set up and charged to review submissions and provide very basic editorial functions – it is expected that the authors will submit essentially final forms of their work. The Committee will do basic filtering to make sure that the submissions conform to the guidelines: length, topic, author expertise. The Committee ranks the submissions and selects several.

The ASOF Quarterly is an internal electronic publication of ASOF distributed only within the ASOF network.

The authors maintain ownership of their work and, at any point, can choose to remove the article from ASOF distribution and publish it anywhere else.

On a regular cycle, the ASOF membership is asked to select one article for publication in an international media outlet; ASOF would then help the author to have the article prepared and sent to key outlets for publication. The remaining articles of the Quarterly may be distributed to partner media agencies, such as EVN Report or the Mirror, with the permission of the authors. In the latter scenario, the media outlet is to cite the ASOF Quarterly as the source.

Other notes

If we can eventually secure funding, the Quarterly can have a print form distributed to universities in Armenia – perhaps once per year with 4 issues.

The Quarterly should have dedicated permanent sections, e.g. member news, message from the board, committee reports, etc…

The Quarterly can have special issues on various topics - to be decided by the editorial board with the option that topics can be proposed by ASOF members.
